Portugues Camino (Central)

May 2018

This Camino is not my favourite but it is the official one.  I walked from Porto to Santiago as I had heard that the walk from Lisbon is not very interesting and there is a lot of road walking.  Portuguese drivers scare me. They drive fast!

Starting in Porto, I felt this was much the same at first.  There is quite a bit of road walking and lots of cobblestones, so it can be hard on the feet and ankles.  From Tui (the 100km mark that you need to start from to get a Compostela Certificate), it improves greatly.  I actually don’t have much to say about this walk. It is my least favourite, although some of the forest parts were lovely.
